Product Description

The Armor That Breathes – Why DGT Redefines Cable Protection

In high-speed CNC machining and heavy industrial environments, standard plastic carriers melt under hot flying metal chips, while traditional, heavy all-steel chains cause internal cable friction and catastrophic drag.

The DGT Metal Drag Chain changes the game. By fusing a 430 Stainless Steel outer jacket with an ultra-smooth Nylon inner liner, it delivers a hybrid solution: total exterior armor with zero interior friction. If you are running automated systems exposed to sharp debris, heavy oil, or high-temperature slag, this is the ultimate flexible cable carrier your shop floor demands.

Technical Breakdown – The Steel-Nylon Synergy

External Defense: Crafted from premium 430 stainless steel, this steel cable carrier withstands direct exposure to red-hot metal shavings, sharp sparks, and corrosive cutting fluids.

Internal Shielding: Traditional metallic edges cut cables over time. Our integrated nylon lining ensures your power lines and pneumatic tubes ride on a low-friction, non-conductive bed, expanding cable lifespan by up to 300%.

Dynamic Flexibility: Engineered as a high-precision cable guide chain, the DGT series prevents twisting while maintaining a perfectly regulated bending radius.

Real-World Case Study – DGT in Action

Location: Automotive Stamping & High-Precision CNC Milling Shop

The Problem: The client used standard plastic carriers. Hot metal chips embedded into the plastic, freezing the joints and slicing through hydraulic hoses every 4 weeks.

The DGT Solution: We deployed the DGT cable & hose carriers across their 3-axis milling lines. The 430 stainless steel shell repelled 100% of the flying metal shards. Simultaneously, the nylon interior accommodated both electrical lines and hydraulic fluids without kinking.

The Result: Zero downtime recorded over 18 months of continuous, high-speed 24/7 operations.

Specifications & Application Matrix

Whether you need to manage sensitive fiber optics or heavy-duty hydraulic lines, our metal cable carrier configurations act as versatile cable & hose carriers for diverse industrial loads.

Precision Sizing Guide – Get It Right the First Time

Choosing the correct steel cable carrier size prevents internal crowding and early cable fatigue. Follow our 3-step engineering rule:

1. Calculate the Internal Clearance (The 15% Rule)

Gather all cables and hoses that will run through the carrier. Measure the diameter of the thickest cable (Dmax).

Add up the diameters of all cables combined (Dtotal).

Rule: Your carrier’s inner height must be at least 15% larger than Dmax to allow vertical movement. The inner width must accommodate (Dtotal)plus a 10% safety buffer so cables do not crush each other during bends.

2. Determine Your Bending Radius (R)

Check your thickest cable’s data sheet for its minimum dynamic bending radius.

As a factory standard, your flexible cable carrier bending radius (R) should be at least 8 to 10 times the outer diameter of your thickest cable.

3. Quick Dimension Reference Table

(Custom lengths are available upon request for specialized machinery)

DGT-A Series: Inner Width: 40mm – 120mm | Perfect for Light CNC & Laser Wiring.

DGT-B Series: Inner Width: 120mm – 300mm | Engineered for Multi-Conduit Automation & Hydraulic Hoses.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose 430 Stainless Steel over regular steel for a metal drag chain?

430 stainless steel offers excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion and chemical exposure typical in machining environments. It maintains structural integrity under intense heat without scaling or warping, unlike standard carbon steel.

Does the nylon lining require manual lubrication?

No. The industrial-grade nylon used inside our cable guide chain is self-lubricating. It is formulated to drastically minimize friction and static build-up, ensuring silent, smooth travel over millions of cycles.

Can the DGT carrier handle both electrical lines and pneumatic hoses simultaneously?

Yes. It is explicitly designed as a multi-media cable & hose carrier. However, we highly recommend utilizing internal separators or leaving adequate clearance (per our Sizing Guide) to prevent the hoses from rubbing against power lines during rapid acceleration.
